Vladimir Rodriguez
Borned in Bogotá / Colombia in 1975. He began his dance training in 1999 at the ASAB Academy of Arts in Bogotá and parallel to his studies, he began his professional career through different Colombian companies. In 2003 he founded the contemporary dance company Cortocinesis where he developed his research, his choreographic ideas, and at the same time the development of the training system "Mobile Floor". "The Room", one of his pieces, was a finalist in 10Masdanza Canary Islands in 2005. "La Mesa" obtained the Creation Grant in Contemporary Dance in Bogotá in 2006 and was invited by the UNAM (University of Mexico) to Mexico City
His company participated in 2007 at the Festival of New Dance in Lima / Peru.
He has been a guest choreographer for creating Graduation pieces for the Academy of Superior Arts of Bogota / Colombia and the School of Contemporary Dance in Mazatlan / Mexico. "Dog's Tail" was a finalist for the International Choreographic Competition 12Masdanza Canary Islands / Spain.
In 2007 to celebrate 15 years of existence of the Contemporary Dance Company Delfos , He set up "Humeda". In 2008 he won the Fellowship in
Contemporary Dance Creation in Bogotá and created his latest piece "Papayanoquieroserpapaya" which also received the 2010 National Dance Award from the Ministry of Culture.
He has worked as a guest choreographer for Mexican companies as La Bruja, Tumak'at and Andanza.
He has been Company dancer of Déjà Donné / Italy, Esther Aumatell Company in Nantes / France, Compagnie des Anges in Toulouse / France, Cia Faizal Zeghoudi Bordeaux / France,Cia L'explose in Bogota / Colombia, Cia Psoas in Bogotá / Colombia among others. Currently he is developing the project "ESCrito Absurdo" with Omar Carrum of the Company Delfos / Mexico.
